Can you list a society and their worldview that affects whether they can heal ; or cause illness .
In the personalistic system illnesses are caused by a supernatural being or someone with magical abilities. Eg: the evil eye in Latin American countries. Eg:The sorcerer in Papua New Guinea that causes shock and death. Wikipedia says that when one has a illness he/she is out of sync spiritually or emotionally. This is not so with disease as it can be objectively measured. Eg:broken ankle. Today do westerners still believe in "the shaman"?
In general, I would say no, but I've seen signs for "healing rooms" around some small churches, so it is more likely incorporated into Christianity in the West.
There are also "holistic" healers who rely on Asian medicine's reputation, whether pushing fung shui or Chinese medicine or saying realigning your chi or rubbing your feet will cure all your ailments.
Im not sure if I expressed my question as I meant. Like can you compare or contrast a culture's worldview and how what one would need to understand in order to resolve or dissolve to heal a emotional disparity (that is say from the country's cutlural perspective rather than the immigrant's perspective). I don't know if this is an apt example but it is all I can think off right now. Say one person's world view is that a being a stalker you must be a "psychopath" vs another culture's view where it is thought "its fun and harmless". So there is the healing situation involving accepting one's truth/reality vs denying one's truth/reality. Is using one's cutural healing healing or does it create a falsity which could label another "unhealable"? Does that make better sense to my question?

Let me qualify.Doctors merely intervene in patients medical conditions using drugs, surgery, therapies etc. simply to allow the body to heal itself.Perhaps it's quirk of the English language, but do doctors heal anyone, in your understanding.

Are you a Christian who believes in healing?Personally, I do. But for some reason, there is a debate in the church about whether God still wants to heal us today. I don't understand why someone would believe that Jesus would be willing to heal physical sicknesses and diseases when He was here on...
