I bought my 12 week old, Female Chinchilla yesterday and have not seen her eat anything!
She did however eat cardboard - that can't be good! Please help?
You just got her. She'll need to adjust. Make sure you're offering a high quality chinchilla food, such as Mazuri. Most other foods are fatty.
Just be careful if you got her from a pet store, as pet store animals are typically prone to illness.
Remember first aid kits for chinchillas are going to be much different than dogs. It is much harder to comprise a first aid kit. They generally do not show signs of illness until very late on.
Give her time but remember to always put together a first aid kit.
First aid for dogs, just like first aid for humans, is an effective combination of knowledge, supplies and skills, put into action for the benefit of your four-legged friend. Visit www.dog-first-aid-101.com
Sometimes animals need a little time to adjust to a new surrounding. Let her chill and trust - then she'll eat. Our new pet didn't eat for the best part of a week when we first got her.
