Get active your way.....Reap the benefits of daily physical activity.

Friends, life is a matter of priorities and the topmost priority should be taking care of our body. It is not only important to have a healthy appearance but the most important thing is to maintain an acceptable level of quality of life. Keeping this in mind, people must be aware of the importance of practice of physical activity in their daily lives.

Some people with physiological imbalances like people suffering from diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, etc. wait for their doctor to give them the alarm to improve physical activity but why we should wait to have a problem to put solutions afterwards? Why not we use the means to prevent potential problems in our bodies before they convert into a major disease? The sooner a person will start to include healthy activities in his/her life, the more chances that person will have to enjoy a healthy and active life.

For harvesting lifelong benefits from physical activity, it is better to make a workout timetable by choosing at least 3 days a week to practice physical activity in a controlled manner, as in our busy daily life, we are overwhelmed by our obligations and responsibilities and sometimes forget about the most important thing of being careful to undertake all these activities properly. Physical activity is also compatible with any domestic or daily activity and can be combined with weight training in our house using elastic bands, dumbbells, exercise bike, etc. We can also go for a short walk with our children or can do bicycling or self-loading exercises in a park while our children are playing.

Below are five simple and light activities than any person of any age can do without any problem. Conducting these activities in a planned and controlled manner to obtain beneficial effects should be kept in mind.

Description of Activity/Environment

We can perform auto-loading exercises with our own body weight and these can be performed at:

    * Home

    * Natural Environment

    * Fitness Center

    * Workplace

    * Parks and Gardens

We can perform exercises using elastic bands at:

    * Home

    * Natural Environment

    * Fitness Centers or Gyms

    * Workplace

    * Parks and Gardens

Long or short walks of different intensities can be performed at:

    * Natural Environments

    * Parks and Gardens

Running or jogging at different intensities can be performed at:

    * Natural Environments

    * Parks and Gardens

Bicycling or lightweight exercises can be performed at:

    * Natural Environments

    * Parks and Gardens

    * Home

For benefits of lifelong physical activity, it is recommended to:

  1. Include minimum 3 days a week, one hour each day to carry out the above activities.
  2. Perform these activities in a planned and supervised manner.
  3. Commit to the completion of the exercise or physical activity.
  4. Balance and search strategies to support our leisure with our family life and obligations.
  5. Taking physical activity as a priority in our daily life but never as a stressful obligation.

Enjoy the workout in a healthy way by not stressing ourselves.

      Yes you are right ocbill. Many people who end up having ailments are less active and live a sedentary lifestyle.

      These are some excellent tips soni2006. Being a stay-at-home mom, I've had to use my home, and my neighborhood as a means to get physically active. "If there's a will, there's a way" - so goes the adage, and so in agreement with your hub, we really have to put forth the effort to find ways to get active and healthy.
