I don't have too much trouble getting myself up in the morning, but I have a teenage daughter who would sleep until suppertime if I let her. She simply does not wake up! She must be making up for all the sleep she missed when she was a baby. I'm not sure I will ever recover from that!

If you have trouble getting out of bed in the morning, here are some ideas to help you rise and shine!

1. Put the coffee pot next to your bed and set it to brew at getting up time. Put your mug on the dresser across the room!
2. Remove any room-darkening curtains or blinds. Let the sun stream in!
3. Forget the snooze alarm! Set your alarm for the time you absolutely must get up.
4. Have your roommate come in and yank off all your covers.
5. Get a dog that absolutely MUST go outside first thing or leaves you with messes to clean up later.
6. Set multiple annoying sounds and lights to go off in various locations in your bedroom.
7. Arrange to receive various phone calls early in the morning.
8. Arrange your schedule so that you have someplace you must go early in the morning.
9. Keep to a regular schedule, with a sensible bedtime, and get up the same time each day.
10. Keep a noisy bird in your bedroom. Parrots are good. Or chickens!

I really do like this one. I have been thinking about getting it as a gift for myself. Something about having stars projected on the ceiling while I drift off to sleep sounds very relaxing!

There's no way you will be sleeping through these silly phrases! You'll wake up laughing when this one goes off! And no hitting the snooze button either!

When my grandmother was in the hospital, my sister came from out of state and stayed at her house. The next morning, Sis was startled when she suddenly heard a rooster crowing. None of us realized until then that Grandmother had a barnyard clock that woke her up everyday.
