Nothing is ever fault free as things such as stress can delay ovulation. Ovulation depends on the length of your menstrual cycle. However, in general you should aim to have intercourse every second day leading up to the expected day of ovulation.

There are some tools you can use to determine when you are most likely to ovulate - these include ovulation test kits, basal thermometers and examination of your mucus using the Billings Method.
