Is it normal to have bleeding during a early pregnancy?
Yes, it actually happens very often, and seems to be more common with children after the first. I have known people to have what seems to be a normal period as much as three months into a pregnancy, plenty of women who have had spotting around the time of their normal period for the first couple of months, etc. In my current pregnancy, I had one or two periods (we're still trying to determine exactly how far along I am
) that were normal other than being much shorter than usual, there have been no other complications and baby is perfectly healthy. If you're already seeing an OB/GYN then it is a good idea to let them know about it, and definitely see a doctor if the bleeding is particularly heavy, accompanied by severe pain, or if you're just concerned about it and would like to make sure there's nothing wrong.
