Does long-term diuretic use cause kidney damage?
I have been taking Altace 10/12.5 mg RamiPril/HCT for the last couple of years.A recent test confirmed I have moderate CKD eGFR 56-57.My question is does anyone know for sure if long-term use of diuretics can cause kidney damage.Or does the kidney damage indicate uncontrolled blood pressure.I am trying celery seed/parsley tea for kidneys and rauwolfia serpentina for blood pressure. Can I sue my family physician for causing the kidney damage?
Well it is not the diuretic but the ACE inhibitor itself which causes the kidney damage. Now the question is should I sue my family physician and if so for what amount.
Here is the link which mentions the effect ACE-inhibitors have on the kidneys.
