Very, very rarely. I 6-years old when I developed a gout in my right big toe. Hurt like hell, could barely walk on that foot. The doctors said they're seen this case once before. They told me I was likely to get it again in old age.
So yes they do, but very rarely.
Gout is caused by an increase of uric acid in the blood, this forms crystals between the joints, it generally occurs in men between the ages of 40 - 65; however there now seems to be an increase of gout in women, particularly after menopause, and also in younger people.
Uric acid is formed by the breakdown of food, mainly animal fats and protein, perhaps the sensible question we should all be asking ourselves is, what has changed in the diet over the past two or three decades?
Too much processed foods, too many fast food and junk food outlets, too convenient to buy something made rather than a balanced diet of proteins and vegetables and starches, at a % ratio of 25:50:25, prepared and cooked properly?
It's possible, but rare, like the earlier answers have said. I was actually just diagnosed after a bad flare up. My symptoms actually began when I was about 30.

Why does God allow innocent children to suffer?

Can an innocent generation suffer for the sins of a previous generation?I wonder if this explains – why bad things happen to good people.
