Are steroids really as harmful to a man's body as most people have been led to believe?

The main reason steroids are harmful is that they inject an over abundance of testosterone into the body.  If you continually have too much testosterone it can cause aggression, aka: roid rage.   Another downside is that your body will eventually stop making as much testosterone because it no longer needs to make it.

steriod us aside, growing muscle in anyway that is unnaturally fast (and I mean FAST) is horrible for your joints, weakened joints can lead to big injuries. Steroids are generally taken to pack on massive amounts of muscle, so thin kof that plus all the side effects of their use, excessive testosterone is apparently combatted internally by raising oestrogen levels, thats why their are cases of guys growing breast tissue with excessive usage.

Steroids are harmful as they have extra dosage of testosterone which when injected into the body can have many ill effects like weak joints etc. They are used generally to enhance muscle mass but on taking them regularly it can have a negative effect on the body.

Apart from the behavioral changes, your body will become dependent on steroids to supply the body with testosterone, this particularly harmful especially when you come off steroids. Injuries are more likely to occur because the joints and ligaments do not become stronger, therefore if you continue to lift heavy weights, you are setting yourself up for a major injury
