Participate in forums or other like-minded blogs and leave comments with address of your web site.
"Ping" your web site using pingates, pingoat or a service like that.
Look into places where you can post your RSS feed. (if you search here on hubpages for RSS directories there are some good hubs on the topic.)
Insert a meta tag in your web site HTML language. Between the and insert this:
Promote your web site through Twitter and Facebook.
In case you want to do a paid advertisement you can use Google Adwords programme or advertise on Facebook (nowadays cheaper).
