Laurie, thanks for your post. How do you cope with your child's hitting and rages?
I am dealing with all the things you are, with my ODD/ ADD 11 year old. I am a single mom. I have tried all professional roads and nothing has worked. The 'charmer' scenario is all too familiar to me. She tells therapists all the right things, then turns around and screams "Help! You're hurting me!", when no one has touched her. She throws things at me or hits me when she gets worked up. Meds only exacerbated her condition. This is no way to live. Everyday is a repeat. All the intervention in the world hasn't helped. Has anything worked for you? What do you do to protect yourself?
