Anhedonia is one interesting characteristic of a Schizo d/o. Lack of pleasure + flat affect which i think is one useful anhedonic behaviour a normal person can assimilate when encountered by an extremely manic person.
That's interesting. I never knew schizophrenia translates to "split minds." No wonder people tend to confuse schizophrenia with multiple personality disorder (dissociative identity disorder).
schizophrenia does not translate to split mind. I accept this is the common interpretation but a more true translation is fragmented mind.

I am a schizophrenic in recovery.... I dont think I will ever be without it .. not that i want it.. but its a life affect for me and I have never heard of it being translated to anything... Ill look it up some day.

i don't like the term crazy, but when someone is losing grips with reality as in schizophrenia, is the patient aware of the deterioration of their sanity and they are simply helpless to stop it (further compounding the problem) or is the person suffering schizophrenia oblivious to the incongruency...
