No. There are some good points to it, such as allowing an adult child to remain on their parents insurance until the age of 26, however for the most part it is unconstitutional. Mandating that the American public purchase a consumer product (i.e. health insurance) is unconstitutional. There are also issues such as geriatric care and things such as deciding who is worthy of end of life care and whose life isn't worthy of the investment.
Yes, it's already helping many families and retired folks. The plan may need some changes, but all in all, it's about time everyone in this great country will be provided health care at an "affordable price." Those who have health care, I'm sure will disagree, but those who lost their jobs (and insurance) or had none, will welcome it. Not everyone, contrary to belief, makes enough money to afford the current plans. No one should have to suffer or die, due to their economic position in life. Or those who have it, and max out the life policy payouts, shouldn't be turned away either. No one has the right to decide who should live or die, based on his or her inability to purchase health insurance.
