If you decided to try out a success coach to help you achieve your dreams....
What would your ideal coach be like? How do you picture your relationship being with this hypothetical coach?
Would they be strict or lenient? Would they push you past your limits, to show that you can do more than you ever thought, or would they let you go at your own pace as far as you are willing to go?
Should they be a good friend, or more like a parent? Will they make you feel significant and important? Would they tell you what to do? or help you make your own decisions?
What traits would your ideal coach have, and why would those traits keep that coach in your life?
In one word, effective. I do a little bit of life coaching, and I am only speaking from my personal experience here. Telling people what to do is worthless. Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach him to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime. A good coach will hold true to the desired outcome, while respecting the individual's limitations. They will prompt you past the mental blocks you put on yourself, while protecting you from any real dangers that could exist in the region you are being coached in. Strictness and discipline go hand in hand and making changes to a habit will require discipline. A lenient coach will not help you reach your potential, leaving you to function inside of your comfort zone, which does not promote growth.
Well said RClinton, I agree! I look forward to other answers as well
