Does exercise seem harder before or during your period?

I can running 3-4  miles, but when I am close to my period it seems so much more difficult to run even harder.  Is this normal?

    I'd say yes.

Whenever I get my period I get crampy and nauseous. All physical activity makes me want to puke. And just in general it feels like my uterus is being sucked through a straw, so I'm not too keen on working out.

During. I feel horrible and refuse to move. Though it depends on the period. Some are worse and some are better.

Before, but in with time and effort it becomes easier as you develop muscle

I always feel more compelled to exercise when my period is about to start, and then I feel like a lazy zombie halfway into it because of all of the blood loss.  Adding iron supplements and a B-complex helps.
