Should it be the responsibility of employers to provide healthcare insurance for their employees?
In many countries, offering healthcare insurance is an option for employers. But many employees consider it to be an entitlement. Should it be an expectation that all jobs come with healthcare? And if not, is it a duty for government to provide healthcare to its citizens?
Most companies now share the cost of healthcare insurance with the employee. My husband pays around $75 a week and this is considered good in our area.
I think a company that is doing well, should help their employees by at least helping to pay for insurance cost. However, I do understand that this can be difficult for some small companies.
When you say government should provide healthcare, let's face it, we are paying for it through income taxes. I'm afraid if it was the federal government providing it, it would be so botched up that it would be a mess. They can't manage the budget as it is.
