What measures can be practiced to reduce the risk of fire breakout in a building?

The situation is like this, Alex is a cleaner and he performes his duty in mid night and cleans a Gym and physical training facility. One day he found one sawana left on by the day staff. And room temprature shoots to 80 -85 degrees C. This sawana could be turned off without a key. So what could be the best things he can do to avoid a rist of fire. He has tried to call all day staff who know the location of keys to turn it off but no one is attending. By his efforts, like opening adjascent doors of sawana, and wetting the floor, the temprature comes to 45 degrees. But what else should do?

He  has done enough to bring the temperature to 45 degrees. He should immediately call for help from fire department. Till their arrival, he can pour as many ice cubes over the apparatus as possible to reduce the temperature further. He should also call his friends, family and relatives to join in the operation till fire fighters come and professionally deal with the matter. There is no time to search for or make duplicate keys in an  emergency.
