What Are Lingual Braces?
How are lingual braces different than regular braces? Are they better or worse than regular braces? Are lingual braces more expensive?
Lingual braces are attached to the backs/inside surfaces of teeth rather than the front surfaces. They are used when the person having the braces does not wish the world to know that they are undergoing orthodontic treatment. They can be quite uncomfortable (more so than regular braces) and are more expensive because they are more difficult/awkward to fit and adjust in the dental office and more complicated to fabricate in the lab.
