What are the Symptoms Of Lupus?
What are the symptoms, causes and treatments for lupus?
Eghad, there are so many-does that help? Lupus is a disease of massive inflammation in which the immune system goes 'wacky.' There is often inflammation of the joints-sometimes not. But if there's not, there can be stiffness of those joints.
There can be headaches, fevers, symptoms are so varied. THe symptoms that you experience often depend on the body system affected by the lupus. I had NO symptoms at first, but lupus affected my lungs.
So, affecting your lungs, lupus can give you shortness or breath, fevers, chest pain.
If lupus affects your skin, you can experience sun-sensitivty; sometimes just having lupus gives you sun sensitivity.
Dry eyes, problems with memory.
But symptoms of lupus are different in everybody as are the treatments. If you have lupus, or think you have lupus, the kind of doctor to see, besides you primary care physician is a rheumatologist.
It's a disease that effects the immune sysem so weakness and tiredness are a most noticible system. Others include red marks on the skin that "just appear" and the person can usually feel them coming on. Also a red flush over the nose and under the eyes is an early sign. Hope this helps.
