What are the similarities and differences between lupus and multiple sclerosis?
Hi Aficionada. My father has MS and I have known others with Lupus so I will include the differences that I have seen or witnessed. The only similarities I know of would be fatigue, shortness of breath, and confusion.
MS has more of these symptoms- difficulty with speech or slurred words, loss of strength in hands and limbs, intense tightness in chest (MS hugs they call it), Tinnitus (ringing of the ears), blurred or double vision, and others depending on the individual.
Lupus has more of these symptoms- pain and/or swelling of the joints, skin rash (commonly on the face and nose), fever, mouth sores and others depending on the individual. These symptoms are known to come and go unlike those of MS.
I hope this helps you! Take Care
