How have you broke through your limiting beliefs?
Have you broke through some limiting beliefs? How did you do it? What worked and what didn't?
Anything else you want to include would be appreciated, but I really want to know the 'how' of it all.
Religion. I used to be religious, but it was in my teens and partially to just fit in. Once I hit my 20s, I started looking into arguments for and against and tried to keep an open mind. It got me interested in learning about science, physics, chemistry, biology - you name it. In the end, I came to the conclusion that these religious views I held were simply impossible to justify. This might make others mad (disagreeing with religion tends to do that), but it's the only example I have.
I looked into Zen and discovered that everybody carries a collection of thoughts, mostly from others. The essence of Zen is to let go of the thoughts. When this happens, total freedom and enlightenment is the result.

Can religion make some lose touch with reality?I'm not asking as an attack or implying all believers are delusional. However I have noticed there are SOME who seem to be really delusional, like they have lost touch with reality while on their quest to find their beliefs. How does this happen and...

I am about to sign off for the evening but I just had this question pop into mind. If religion eases pain or gives comfort to someone what is wrong with that?I am not religious, believe in a God concept after a fashion but don't trust religion. I feel very very wary of religion quite honestly, see...

Aren't conventional beliefs in God limiting, even immature in outlook? Isn't God beyond beliefs, judgments & other human associated characteristics propagated by Abrahamic religions? Why are some humans adherent to old, even destructive paradigms of what they associate with God...
