How to convert uIU/ml to mIU/L?

Is there a conversion calculator online that can convert uIU/ml to mIU/L? If yes, then please post the link. If there isn't any, then how to calculate it without a conversion calculator?

I think this might help.

But if you are using some kind of formula, there is a constant for biological activity that varies depending on the substance (you find that in a chart or from pharmaceutical company).

U is Greek "mu" for one millionth, so uIU/ml  concentration converted to liters would be, 1000X.000001 per ml, or .001 IU/L

mIU/L is one thousandth of IU per liter, so it is 0.001 IU/L

The simple answer is that they are the same, they are a 1 to 1 ratio.

But remember that the constants for different "stuff" are different, so this conversion is for converting the same stuff. Whatever formula you are using will require different constants if mixing different things.

Thanks John. I wanted this conversion  for TSH values. My uncle has elevated TSH values but they are measured in uIU/ml and not mIU/L. All websites have TSH values in mIU/L. Are they still a 1 to 1 ratio?

Yes. If you simply want to interpret THS values. I certainly wouldn't want you to give anyone injections based on my info. I am not a doctor. Talk him. For my comfort, see MrsX page 4 http://forum.onlineconversion.com/showt … amp;page=3
