Does anyone struggle with emetophobia?
Emetophobia is fear of throwing up and can affect a person's daily life in many ways.
I suffer from this. I have a number of physical problems, one being chronic nausea. I have had it from the time I was very young. My other illnesses cause the nausea and I often times end up in the hospital as a result. Over the years, I developed this fear the moment my stomach would feel even a little "off". It's a very challenging problem for me since I am overly aware of my stomach and the moment it doesn't feel right the fear kicks on. The fear then worsens the nausea! It's a nasty circle.
I have not really been able to address the problem since it will always be with me. Unfortunately, nausea and vomiting are a regular part of my daily life. I am trying to work on reducing my fear, but it's a long road and the best I can do is to take it a day at a time.
Sending best wishes to you.
Thank you, Delaney - my daughter has had this disorder from first grade one. She suffers with IBS - we have been to a couple major children's hospitals looking for help. She is now 20 and in school for nursing - she just pushes through the anxiety

I've had a severe and crippling case of emetophobia for 30 years. Although I've found a disturbingly high concentration of people like me in Europe, I'm curious to see how many people in the U.S. suffer from this affliction. I'd also like to know if they got over it and how.

Does anyone make Sunday dinner anymore? When I grew up, if I went to my Grandma's on Sunday, I could expect a feast. I don't hear of people having Sunday dinners anymore. Do you know of any families who have Sunday dinners consistently?
