Now Medicare gets involve with other health insurance’s companies Call your Medicare program and find an agent that can help you with Obama’s health care program to get more . It is for people over 65. Is it a good idea.?
I have 3 articles posted on this topic. Check my profile to find them. Good info that has been well researched with regards to Medicare programs. Where did you hear that Medicare was hooking up with Obamacare? Not sure this is correct. Show me your info source, please. Thanks.
Hi, dear, noted. However, I am a Nigerian and resident in Nigeria. I had previously noted the OBAMA CARE. But now, I do not think about how I can contribute to something which I am not up-to-date. Your fellow countrymen and women can. Many thanks.
As has been previously, repeatedly, mentioned--this sort of topic goes on the topical side of the forums not the Hubpages side.
Good morning mister Miebakakah57. Thank you for your kind words. Definitely, you are correct. In the USA we have many changes with the health insurances. Some elderly people do not know; they have other services for free that in the past they used to pay. And they do not go to the doctor because they do not know that the services are free. I guest the Doctors or institution will used their knowledge to do the extra services that they need to be done. It will be best to call them up.
As I stated, my articles have been well researched. In addition I am a senior citizen and as such use Medicare. There is no connection between Medicare and Obamacare at this time. Medicare is only for seniors. Also, there is nothing "free" with medicare. Even when a program in the Advantage program is sold as being "free" there still are many costs involved in the services they provide. Please, if you are going to make statements like this, cite your sources. There are no free health services for the elderly unless they are so poor that they can qualify for Medicaid.
Hi, erorantes, thanks for the useful information. Like as at the TIME TRAVELLER2 also said, the services are free but it seems consultancy fees is what is being charged by the doctors. This type of thing is not good for senior citizens who have served the state for long. Whether they are the poor or middle class, they all deserve the same treatment. Many thanks indeed.
All American citizens are treated the same when it comes to Medicare and Medicaid.
So, it does mean all have to pay some fees when the treatment seems free? How much do you American spent on arms and ammunition? In my country Nigeria, health care may seem free, but some payments for administration, consultant, drugs are the charge for recycling.
Very old persons and children less than 6 years are provided with free health care. But the parents of the child were to certify for paying tax. This only happens in some states. Tank you.
"So, it does mean all have to pay some fees when the treatment seems free?"
Yes. I am on medicare and there is a charge every time I visit a physician, clinic or hospital. There is a charge for most if not all drugs. The only exception I've encountered in 3 years was a clinic visit to remove stitches; stitches that had been put in at that same clinic.
Not sure what the cost for weapons and ammunition has to do with medicare costs, though - can you expand that thought?
Hello, thanks for your response. Okay, here I go. You Americans are very rich. Or, let me put it another way: you are a rich country. You spent billions and trillions of dollars on arms and ammunition, which endangered lives. But you dare not spend a dollar free for providing good healthcare for your people! Now, you can understand what Imean.
If this is America, then I am sorry your medicare or mecicard are just words, not realities. Thanks again, and you are welcomed.
The government of some nations is not taking health care for its citizens seriously. If a person cannot pay for health service, what becomes of him/her? Left to rot away?
Years ago, when I was just a boy of 21-years, I made up my mind not to succumb to sickness and diseases. It pays. I try natural methods of staying in good health. It works. I had begun to write on the stories on Hubpages ever since. Thank you.
"But you dare not spend a dollar free for providing good healthcare for your people!"
It's pretty obvious you don't have a clue how health care works in the US. Let me educate you a little:
There is, and has been for years, something called Medicaid (not Medicare). It is a free program (at least to those using it; obviously it is not free to those footing the bill) and is to provide medical services to the indigent.
Children of poorer people receive care through a program called CHIP; again, free to those that use it.
The large majority of hospitals in this country are required to provide care regardless of ability to pay for it. Anyone can walk through the door and get care - that requirement has caused many of our hospitals to fail financially as illegal aliens in the country make common use of them without payment.
The national health insurance plan spends billions of dollars per year on providing health insurance to those that cannot afford insurance.
Medicare is an insurance/retirement program whereby workers pay for decades in order that they can obtain care after retirement. All people over 65 years of age are required to sign up for it and can immediately receive benefits. It is not totally free - no insurance program in the country is - but it IS one of the better insurance programs out there.
It's easy to sit back and complain of someone else providing for their own defense, but without the US many of the world's countries would not be the same without it. There may well come a day that Nigeria needs help as well, but without a strong military will not be able to defend itself against aggression.
Now. If the poor cannot pay for their health care, who do you suggest pay? Doctors, nurses and hospitals all require money - where do you suggest that money come from? Someone else that has earned it with hard work of their own and with their own family to support? It is a common fallacy that government is simply an endless source of free money, but the reality is much, much different; every dollar the government spends comes from a person somewhere that has worked to earn it. (Or, as is common in the US, it is borrowed so that our children can pay it later. )
Hello, wilderness, thanks for this educative prose. Did I heard you say illegal immigrants takes advantage of the scheme of health care? Are they not a system in America like ID cards to identitied such miscrants? Enough of this at the moment.
But I like the health insurance scheme for retirees. We don't have such in Nigeria, but is is being considered.
As to the question of defence, i compare it with health. If you spent much on army tools, how about health is my intention. I may need the gun. But I have to destroy sickness in my body first. Thanks, and have a nice day.
No, there is no national ID card that people in the country illegally carry with them. If if we could catch them all, carrying a card that says "I am a criminal and should not be here!" doesn't seem like something they would do. In any case, though, our hospitals are required to give care to anyone walking through the door, whether a citizen of the country or not.
Govt. provides defense for the nation - for every person in the country and for the country itself. Health insurance provides for individuals and, generally speaking, individuals are responsible for themselves; the govt. is not a nanny for infants incapable of providing for their own needs. Other countries will of course have their own philosophy in this regard, and it is always (always) a mix everywhere.
Hi, Wilderness, thank you for the information. I had not noticed it. Have a good day.
Thank you for posting this, Wilderness. I really get irritated when people go online knowing nothing about a topic and start criticizing it or providing incorrect information. Your summary of how things work is excellent!
Good morning mister wilderness. Thank you for your comment. I am glad; you like my question.

I have been listening to how the government has a billion dollars for getting people to sign up for the Affordable Healthcare Act. Would that money have been better spent training more doctors and building new hospitals? New Jersey has closed how many community hospitals in the last few...

For or against?Personally, I hate the idea. The government needs to stay out of my personal life. I like my freedom of choice.
