How to Relieve Constipation Fast with This Effective Home Remedy: Prune Juice Recipe To Relieve Constipation Quickly!

Updated on August 7, 2012

How to relieve constipation fast

Nowadays, constipation is a common problem that affects millions of people worldwide. The main culprit is the unhealthy diet and lifestyle that we have all adopted despite the fact that it’s detrimental to our health.

General Guideline: If your visit to the bathroom lasts longer than 3-6 minutes, there is a reason for concern. You should have no time for catching up on your reading or other daydreaming while sitting on the toilet. Healthy elimination is fast, painless and no straining is required!

Although everyone may get constipated once in a while, a frequent constipation is certainly a reason for concern.

It’s a sign that your body is not able to properly do its job of eliminating toxins and unwanted food matter, causing these toxins to stay in the body for much longer than they should.

What causes constipation?

Foods that are the root cause for constipation include all processed foods – white flour, white rice, processed cereals, i.e. plant foods that have been stripped from the much needed dietary fiber.

Other foods that are at fault and cause constipation are animal proteins – all meats, dairy, and fats. You need to avoid them as much as you can. The reason that these foods are so constipation is that they don't contain any fiber.

While we eat too many of the processed foods and animal proteins, we are not consuming enough of foods that are most healthy and contain most of beneficial dietary fiber, i.e., fresh fruits and vegetables.

Home Remedies for Constipation

There are many home remedies for constipation that can be used for relieving this condition. The most often used is prune drink or prune juice.

Other foods that can be used are apple juice, pear juice, and flaxseeds - they all provide laxative properties.

Flaxeseeds are rich sources of omega-3 acids, fiber and good fatty acids. Eat a tablespoon of ground flaxseeds followed by glass of water. Also, you can mix them with juices, salads or any other foods and drinks.

The majority of people do not need to use laxatives, unless their constipation is severe and cannot be relieved with less drastic home remedies.

Prune Juice Recipe for Constipation Relief

Here is a popular and well tested recipe for prune-apple-pear juice that will help you get rid of constipation quickly.

Anti-Constipation Tonic

2 pitted plums or pitted prunes
2 apples cut into wedges
1 pear cut into wedges

Juice all the ingredients: plums, apples and pear.

If using dried prunes, make sure you soak the dried prunes in water. Instead of juicing the prunes, you’ll need to blend the prunes with 1 cup of water in a blender at high speed.

Anti Constipation Diet

Best Foods to Eat For Healthy Colon

The best diet for healthy digestion and smooth elimination is LOADED with fresh fruits, vegetables, and greens. These foods should constitute the majority of what you eat every day. Make an effort to include a big portion of these wonderful foods with EVERY MEAL, or replace some of your meals completely with meals made exclusively with those ingredients.

Eat lots of salads, drink freshly made green juices, green smoothies (these are simply blended drinks made from fruits and greens - for delicious smoothie recipes visit this website), prepare soups and vegetable stews.

Other foods that are good for you are nuts, legumes, and whole grains, i.e. grains that have NOT been stripped from the fiber.

Exercise is Also Important for Preventing and Relieving Constipation

Another essential component for best digestion and elimination is physical activity. Make sure you include some exercise in your every day schedule.

And don’t postpone the need to go!
