Prostate Cancer Natural Prevention

Cancer is a chronic illness that causes a majority of deaths worldwide. It comes in many forms such as prostate cancer, cervical cancer, breast cancer, stomach cancer, throat cancer to name just but a few. Cancer victims are both the young and the old, the rich and the poor, women and men, the intellectuals and the illiterate…….in short cancer can happen to anyone. Despite the fact that it can happen to anyone, the people at a high risk of getting cancer are those that have a history of cancer in their family or those that lead some certain unhealthy lifestyles that includes abuse of alcohol, cigarettes, unhealthy foods, drugs and the like.

This article will look into prostate cancer and how adapting to a healthy food diet will help prevent this illness from occurring or act as an effective natural method of treatment. Prostate cancer is a common type of cancer that affects majority of men in many parts of the world leading to death if ignored or if treatment is sought at a late stage. It affects the prostate which is a vital element in the reproductive system of every man.

The main food that acts as a protector of the prostate is the tomato. This vegetable is cultivated worldwide and it is mainly used as an ingredient in salads and sauces. Tomatoes are universally recognized as medicinal food due to its healing power on a variety of disorders as well as its preventive effects on certain types of cancer specifically that of the prostate.

Tomato is a healthy food that is abundant in Vitamins and much more Vitamin C; actually it contains much more Vitamin C than the citrus fruits such as oranges and tangerines. This fact makes tomato also effective in preventing and treating the disease called scurvy. Tomato also has significant amounts of niacin, folates, and minerals such as potassium, iron, magnesium and phosphorus. Did you know that tomatoes contain iron that is nine times more than milk?

Tomato as a healthy food also has some non-nutritive elements that are known as vegetable fiber, organic acids and lycopene.

Lycopene is in a group called carotenoids and it is the vegetable pigment that gives the red color to the tomato. It is normally present in the human blood. It is mainly found in the testicles, the prostrate and the suprarenal glands. This element is an antioxidant that aids in preventing the deterioration that free radicals produce in the DNA of the human body cells.

Due to its composition, tomatoes are indicated in prostate conditions. The lycopene is the carotenoid that protects the prostrate cells from oxidation and abnormal growth. Apart from preventing cancer of the prostate, tomatoes also have the power to reduce and control excessive growth of the prostate which is known as benign adenoma or hypertrophy, which is so common in men who are above the age of fifty. Knowing the effect of lycopene in tomatoes to the prostate tissues, it can be deduced that regular intake of tomato promotes a healthy function of the prostate.

Any man who is concerned about his present and future health should adapt to a healthy lifestyle to ensure that he is free of any future ailments and thus live long. A diet comprising of healthy food should be taken into serious consideration by any man who wants to avoid getting prostate cancer.

One should reduce or eliminate the following from his diet: red meats, food or supplements calcium, milk and animal fat.

One the other hand, one who wants to prevent prostate cancer should include the following in his diet: fruits, Vitamin E, garlic, fructose, soy, legumes, dried fruits and TOMATOES.

Men should adopt a majority plant base diet to prevent prostate cancer. Dairy and fats should be minimized for maximum benefits. Great information.
