This movie is based on Charles Dickens' novel entitled 'A Christmas Carol'.

This popular and well-known novel is about Ebenezer Scrooge, a miser who meets three ghosts, the Ghost of Christmas Past, Present and Yet To Come.

Of course, there's more to the story than that but you'll just have to read the book to find out more. There are also other adaptations of this classic story, including the Barbie movie in question.

In Barbie In A Christmas Carol, instead of having a male protagonist such as in the case of Ebenezer Scrooge, we have a female protagonist in the form of Eden Starling, played by Barbie.

Eden Starling is a singing diva who owns a theater in Victorian London. She even has a cat named Chuzzlewit.

She is selfish and self-centered and doesn't believe in Christmas, so much so that she wants all of her workers and employees to go to work on Christmas day.

She will not be swayed or persuaded otherwise no matter what anyone else says, even if one of the people trying to convince her or talk her out of it is Catherine Beadnell, her best friend since childhood.

As such, three Christmas spirits show up to take Eden on a fantastic and wonderful journey that will change her life and her view on things.

This movie is sure to delight fans of the Barbie movies and it can even help you get into the spirit of the Christmas season as you see what Christmas is all about while being able to bond with the rest of the family as you all watch this movie together.

Barbie In The Nutcracker

At first glance, this movie doesn't seem to be related to Christmas at all especially considering the title and not when compared to the previously-mentioned Barbie movie, which actually has Christmas in its title.

However, as you can see in the DVD cover of this movie, Barbie In The Nutcracker does have Christmas themes to it.

This Barbie movie is actually based on the story by E.T.A. Hoffmann entitled 'The Nutcracker And The Mouse King'. If you haven't heard of this story at all, then perhaps you might have heard of the ballet 'The Nutcracker'. This ballet is actually based on the aforementioned story.

Both the book and the ballet have their differences including the name of the main character however the basic gist of the story in both is that it begins on the eve of Christmas.

Aside from the other presents that the protagonist receives, she also gets a nutcracker from her godfather, named Drosselmeyer, who is said to be a clockmaker and inventor in the novel but is instead said to be a local councilman and magician in the ballet.

Anyway, eventually, the main character experiences magical and extraordinary things as she discovers the secrets regarding the nutcracker.

In the Barbie movie, Barbie stars as the main character named Clara. Clara lives with her grandfather, who is named Drosselmeyer, and her younger brother.

On the eve of Christmas, Clara's Aunt Elizabeth shows up and gives her a present in the form of the nutcracker. Clara soon joins the nutcracker as they go on a magical journey and she even gets the chance to see and experience such fantastic and wonderful things.

Barbie: A Perfect Christmas

This movie isn't based on a story the way the 2 previously-mentioned Barbie movies were.

But that doesn't mean that it isn't a good movie anyway. In fact, this particular movie is also highly-rated on Amazon.com.

Barbie: A Perfect Christmas stars Barbie (of course), but her three sisters, Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea, are also with her.

It's the Christmas holidays and Barbie and her sisters have already made such grand plans for their vacation.

They all intend to head to New York City to execute these vacation plans however, things don't go exactly how they wanted it to.

Due to a snowstorm, they ended up stranded in Minnesota, far away from their intended destination. They have no choice but to stay at the Tannenbaum Inn.

But instead of having the holidays ruined for the sisters, they actually end up enjoying themselves as they meet new people and have wonderful experiences that show them what the true meaning of Christmas is all about.

And they find that they can get a perfect Christmas even though they didn't get to their intended destination and things didn't go exactly as they planned it.
