Free Meals for Veterans Day
Free Veterans Day Meals
In recent years it has started to become more and more common for companies to show their appreciation for veterans by offering them freebies. One of the most popular options is the free Veterans Day meal. A number of restaurants have started offering free meals to veterans and active duty military personnel on Veterans Day. While certainly the main reason that they do this is for the advertising that it provides for their company that doesn’t change the fact that it is still a free meal and that the sentiment is very real. The options for free Veterans Day meals will vary depending on where you live but there are some that are generally available nationwide.
Applebees Veterans Day 2010
The Applebees Veterans Day meal is probably the one that started the trend, they have been doing it for a few years now. The free Veterans Day meal has become so popular that in a lot of locations they have had to extend their hours on Veterans day so that they could accommodate the demand. You may want to check with the Applebees in your area to see what their hours are on Veterans Day. The free meal is available to any veteran or active duty military personnel on Veteran’s Day. In order to receive your free meal you will need to have proof of military service or arrive wearing a uniform. There is a limited menu of what is available for the free Veterans Day meal at Applebees.
The Outback Steakhouse Free Veterans Day Meal
The other widely available free Veterans Day meal is from Outback Steakhouse. The offering here is much more limited as they only offer a free Bloomin Onion and a non-alcoholic beverage. Again the free meal at Outback Steak house is available to all veterans and active duty military personel on Veterans Day . You will of course need to be able to provide proof of service.
The Golden Corral Free Meal for Veterans
Strictly speaking this isn’t a free Veterans Day meal since it is actually offered on November 15 instead. That is when Golden Corral holds its military appreciation meal from five to nine in the evening. All former and active duty military personnel are invited to receive a free meal on November 15 at Golden Corral. As with all of the offers it will be necessary to have proof of your military service.
There are plenty of other free meals available on Veterans Day but most of them are offered by smaller local restaurants rather than by the big national chains. You may want to look around and see what is available in your area.
