Gifts ideas for a 50 Shades of Grey Fan

Updated on April 17, 2013

Dear friend of a 50 Shades fan...

50 Shades of Grey has become a weirdly global phenomenon. No matter whether you have read it or not, loved it or hated it, you will have heard about it! No one seems to be able to escape it. And even if you are one of those who disliked it, I have no doubt you know someone who loved it, someone who is obsessed with it, someone who thinks Christian Grey is the perfect man (I am not in that boat by the way!! Just know a lot of women who are) So for all those who are in love with 50 Shades I thought I would compile a great little gift list of the spin off items that have come about since its super success.

If there is a 50 Shades of Grey fan in your life, I assure you they would love any one of the gifts I have found online. And these are all clean gits may I add, nothing naughty here!

50 Shades of Grey inspired CD

Ah music! If you have managed to read the books you will know music plays a major role (in and out of the bedroom). If you haven't read the book, just take my word for it!

Christian is at times somewhat obsessed by music - classical especially - and uses it in many ways to help control situations or evoke specific moods. Throughout the series many classical and orchestral pieces are referenced and used by Mr Grey. So it was to be expected that at some point some clever person would compile all the tracks mentioned into one hand CD. This has actually been done by a number of people and companies - most of which you can find in the Amazon Capsule to the side. Any fan will love to hear the many tracks used by Christan Grey in the books, to help them relive (fantasize!) about certain parts of the soryline. Plus a number of the tracks are fairly obscure and wouldn't be known by most of the general public, so it is nice to be introduced to specific tracks that play a key role in the plot.

I don't think it matters much whether the person you buying the gift for is into classical music, as any fan would be happy to hear the exact musical pieces Christian played to Anastasia.

50 Shades of Grey inspired Clothing

Not clothing of the kinky kind, thank you very much! If you want that type of thing I am sure a stroll round Anne Summers of LoveHoney.com would do the trick! I am just talking about 50 Shades inspired clothing. Although you can buy that exact tie off the cover of the first book (wink, wink!)

There are a number of sayings or items that any 50 Shades of Grey fan will automatically associate with the books. And you can now buy a number of these printed on a range of clothing. It's like boyband t-shirts for grown ups! Any fan will appreciate a 'Laters baby', 'We aim to please' or 'Charlie Tango' printed item I promise you. Ok, maybe most won't actually wear them outside the house (although a few will) they will still gladly curl up in a nice 50 Shade inspired hoody or t-shirt to watch TV at home or sleep in.

50 Shades of Grey inspired Jewellery and Accessories

If all out emblazoned clothing is a bit too much why not get them a slightly subtler piece of jewellery or an inspired accessory.

The 50 Shades inspired false nails I found on Etsy are truly amazing! They must take so much work to paint, and would look so striking on.

There is so much 50 Shades of Grey inspired jewellery on the market you will have a hard time chooseing. It was the same when Twilight first hit the big time with Edwards vs Jacob items and wolves and apples all over the place. But that being said some of the pieces you can find are pretty unique and really quite beautiful, so look for something a bit different and a bit more elegant maybe. Etsy is a great place to look as all items are hand made and usually unique or made in very small numbers. It'll show you took a bit more effort in your gift buying.

If your friend is a bit of a party girl or maybe your buying it for your boyfriend or hubby (yep there are some of them who have gotten into the 50 Shades hype too) then the 'stow your twitchy palm hip flask would be a great fun gift.

Lastly I found this great tote bag. Most of the ones on the market have sayings like those on the clothing or the 'Keep calm...' theme but this one is great for a really literary lover. It shows how womens tastes have changed and evolved over time, and I in all honest love the idea (although I have been a fan of none of the men mentioned!)

50 Shades of Grey decals and decorations

Decals are always a fun way to personalise items, whether it be your car, your home, your phone, your laptop or a whole array of other items, decals are the quickest and easiest way to change the apperance of something to your own tastes. So it's no surprise that 50 Shades inspired decals have made their way onto the market. Again they tend to have Christian Grey sayings or references on them, or quotes from the books so will automatically mean something to a fan.

Again you can find plenty of companies that will personalise a decal for you - say if you want a specific colour or size made up, so you can really show you have taken the time when purchasing the gift. Plus having a decal is always fun! And they can easily be changed for something else when a new craze or heart throb comes about!

What about a simple book?

If they are a fan of 50 Shades there is a high possibility that they are avid readers too, so why not get them another book! I have written another hub all about books like the 50 Shades of Grey trilogy. So you could get them one of the titles from that list, as they are all similar to the 50 Shades series, so I am sure they would like them too!
