Great Christmas Music For The Whole Family

It's that time of year when we pull out all of our Christmas CDs. If you're like me, I'm always on the lookout for a new Christmas CD. I really like variety when it comes to holiday music whether its the classics performed by classic artists or new songs by young pop stars they all add up to a festive atmosphere both in the home and while travelling. Here are ten great Christmas CDs that provide something for the whole family. Whether you purchase your music online or in stores, be sure to check these titles out to enjoy over the holiday season.

If you like acoustic guitar taken to the next level, you will love this CD. David Wayne plays several classic Christmas songs and adds his magic touch in creating a pure acoustic instrumental experience. This is definitely one of my favorites and always puts me in the festive mood. David Wayne is a Southern California guitarist and his music is available online. If your ever in Disneyland, David Wayne performs regularly on the Boardwalk and also at the street festivals in Palm Springs.

This is a really upbeat Christmas CD and has plenty of unique renditions of classic christmas songs performed by artists from the 80s and earlier. A few of my favorite tracks are Merry Xmas Baby by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, You Make it Feel Like Christmad by Neil Diamond, Oh Holy Night by Mariah Carey and Happy Xmas by John Lennon and Yoko Ono. In fact every song performed by every artist on this CD is heart warming. Everyone in our family enjoys listening to this CD over and over again.

If you love the Charlie Brown and the gang in Charlie Brown's Christmas, you will know the music doesn't get any better than this. You might call this the sound track that takes Charlie Brown through the stress of the xmas season until he finds the true meaning behind Christmas, thank you Linus . You will no doubtably feel yourself slip into a feeling of well being while listening to the beautiful arrangements composed by Vincent Guaraldi that gave Charlie Brown's Christmas its unforgettable music and sound.

Here is a lively Christmas CD by the Barenaked Ladies. They perform a variety of classic and original xmas songs performed in a fun way that appeals to the whole family. This is great to listen to anytime especially when your decorating your tree or baking xmas cookies. We would take this one on road trips as it would surely keep me awake at the wheel.

Talk about your uplifting Christmas music, Andrea Bocelli teams up with a host of musical artists and performs several duets in the manner only he can deliver. Some of my favorites are What Child is This performed with Mary J. Blige, The Lords Prayer with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and a real treat in Jingle Bells with none other than The Muppets. You'll keep the player on Repeat for this CD.

Believe it or not this is a real good CD full of great Christmas songs sung by many of Disney Channel artists. There are some classics as well as some oriiginal tracks performed by the Jonas Brothers, The Cheetah Girls, Corbin Bleu and a host of others probably only your kids might know. Either way this is a very enjoyable xmas CD with a lot of great performances by the young stars of the new millenium.

For you acoustic guitar enthusiasts, you will find this CD to be full of great renditions of Christmas classics performed by a variety of classical artists. We bought this CD when visiting Fargo North Dakota. Gregg Hansen who we had met on a previous visit to Fargo was performing Christmas songs on his acoustic guitar in the center of the mall. He is featured on this CD on the track Angels Among Us. This is a great CD to listen to anytime, and especially makes for great dinner music while entertaining guests.

If you are a Josh Groban fan, you will definitely love this CD. In the way only Josh Groban can deliver, his powerful voice transcends all Christmas classics in a beautiful and inspiring collection. We have seen Josh Groban perform live once and can really appreciate what he brings to each song. Again a great CD to play during dinner or while entertaining guests over the holiday season.

This is a real good and fun CD, and I must note that I was really surprised at just how good it is. Rosie O'Donnell hosts a party of famous artists and groups and even sings along in a select few. This is a highly energetic Christmas CD featuring the the likes of the Dixie Chicks, Ricky Martin, Jewel, the Trans Siberian Orchestra and many more talented artists. This is another CD that every one will enjoy during the holiday season, great to listen to anytime.

The title in this one should tell you what a treat you're in for. Christmas classics perfomed by some of the famous soul groups of the 50s and 60s. The Drifters, The Platters and The Miracles are all featured in this classic nostalgic visit to past great performances. This really adds a nice touch to the variety of Christmas and holiday music contained within all of the CDs. There are so many great artists to choose from when looking for Christmas music. These are just a few that my family and I have really enjoyed. You can sometimes find a new CD in the most unusual places so I always keep my eye open for that next holiday treasure.
