Halloween Is Fun

If you are looking for Halloween costumes, Halloween décor, Halloween movies or music or even a Halloween dinner, you have come to the right place!

Some of my best memories are of Halloween parties, haunted houses, costumes, trick or treating and even "rolling" yards on Halloween.

As a child, I enjoyed dressing up in a costume and trick or treating in our neighborhood. We went from house to house with our friends and gathered vast hordes of candy. The night air was electrified with excitement!

Trick or Treat Halloween Safety for Children

Because you can never really know for sure what lurks in the night, there are a few safety tips to remember to ensure a Happy Halloween!

*Don't Trick or Treat Alone ~ Groups are fun anyway

*Never Go Inside a Strangers Home

*Never Get into a Strangers Car

*Carry a Flashlight

*Wear or Carry something Reflective

*Stay in a well Populated Area

*Stay in a well Lighted Area

*Watch for Traffic when you cross the street

*Choose a Costume with great Visibility

*Choose a Costume that is Flame Retardant

*Don't carry any Sharp Objects

*Don't Eat Unwrapped Treats

*Parents, Inspect your Child's Candy

*Stay away from Lit Candles in Jack-o-lanterns

*Wear Sturdy Shoes

Halloween Costumes

As a teen, I gathered with my friends to stage a haunted house. We thoroughly enjoyed painting our faces in gory or grotesque make up and scaring the dickens out of anyone who crossed our path.

As a young adult, again I gathered with my friends for Halloween parties. We always dressed up in costumes and sometimes we would go to a haunted house ourselves.

As a young parent, we dressed our children in costumes and took them trick or treating, to a haunted house or to a Halloween party.

Having Fun on Halloween

Now that our children are grown, we still like to dress in costumes, decorate our home and give out candy to the trick or treaters. We always play Halloween music in the background.

Our son, pictured in the introduction, usually stays home for the first hour or so of trick or treating and hands out the candy. The neighborhood children always love his costumes. I think they come to our house more to see how our son is dressed than to get candy.

The little girls just love him and the little boys always want to emulate him.

After the trick or treaters turn in for the night, we enjoy a Halloween movie.

Regardless of our age or station in life, Halloween has always been fun!
