A little late..

A little late, but here's my New Year blog/ article.

While this decade started out with me being in my final year of schooling, actually it was my second last year, South Africa hosted the Fifa World Cup, yup it was 2010.

Wow! Time really flies, here I am, 10 years later, writing my heart out, trying to find a way to get my voice heard, get people to support my blog, but in a weird way, I'm enjoying this struggle. The only reason is because one day, if I ever become successful, I'll look back and think, "damn, I deserve this, I've worked hard for what I have, I love my life!"

Comment below, where you were 10 years ago and where are you now. How did you start this decade and how are you ending it!

And no matter what, just know that you are not a failure, if you've come this far, then surely there's something great waiting out there for you. Take it one day at a time..

What happened?

Ah! 2020 is here.

This year has been quite eventful, we had the whole Area 51 drama along with Miley and Liam getting divorced and finally ending it off with the new Jumanji movie!

We had everything this decade, from making slime to Donald Trump becoming president. I would have to say this decade was 'da bomb', I'm referring to Brooklyn 99, which got renewed for season 8!! Noice!

Damn! This was a great decade.

So what next?

We had some great movies, music and people who came into our lives and made a difference. Unfortunately it was not too great for others though. Some lost their jobs, some did not do well at college/university or schooling, and others are still, to date, fighting for their lives. We also got a chance to see what politicians really wanted to do with the citizens and their country.

We witnessed India bringing in a new bill, which most citizens are opposing, while a few are supporting it.

We also saw many immigrants being kicked out of a place which they had called home for more than 10 years.

We witnessed a great young lady, Greta Thunberg, take on a president! You go girl!!

While there were many bad things, there were just as many good things that came out of this decade and this year. So what happens next?

My Hope..

But I hope 2020 brings a change,

I hope our politicians start caring for their citizens, rather than abusing their power and using taxpayers money to increase corruption.

I hope to see wars coming to an end, to see people helping one another.

I hope to see the end of racism, discrimination and hate.

I hope to see individuals allowed to freely practice their religion, culture and traditions.

I hope to see young girls get an education.

I hope to see young boys being taught how to fight for women’s rights but also to be taught about their own rights.

I hope to see happier families and friends, to see no border separating loved ones from one another.

I hope to see children from war zones getting a better lifestyle and not waking up to the sound of bombs.

I hope to see a happier, loving and more caring 2020.

So here's my resolution for 2020:

I want to stop comparing myself to others, it doesn't matter if someone my age is getting married, having a baby or getting 2 degrees. I want to be a happier me, live a happier life. They say that you need to learn t love yourself before you can love others, but you also need to be happier with what you have and only then can you be more accepting and loving of others.

Don't make resolutions that are difficult or resolutions that you know you might not be able to live up to. You have the whole year ahead! Make one resolution at a time, so start with being happy with yourself, appreciate the little things in life and soon everything else will fall into place.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
