Toddler Halloween Costumes: Cute Ideas for Hallowing Costumes for Your Toddler

Updated on October 6, 2010

Toddler Halloween Costumes

Halloween parties are fun for adults and the little ones. It's fun to participate as a family, or just go to a children's costume party with your toddler dressed up in a cute little costume. My son likes to dress up in costume regardless of whether it's Halloween or not - he would pull out his Transformer, pirate, or Superman costume out of his closet and surprise me wearing it instead of his pajamas, LOL. Plus, they all look sooo cute dressed up on pictures too.

Ideas for Toddler Halloween Costumes

There are literally hundreds of different costumes to choose from. You can go for movie characters such as Spiderman, Yoda from Star Wars, Princess Jasmine, Aladdin, or Transformer, or one from any of the Sesame Street, SpongeBob SquarePants, Bob the Builder, and any other television programs they watch. In this case it is pretty easy to choose just observe what your toddler's favorite character is. My son loves to play Wii, and he would probably love to wear a Mario costume from Mario Carts game (I haven't asked him yet, because once I do, I may have to HAVE to buy it).

Then you have the more traditional costumes from fairy tales and bed time stories and this will include princesses, fairies, witches and wizards, superheroes, vampires (those tiny little cute ones); Little Red Riding Hood, Alice in Wonderland costumes (as well as all the fairy tale characters), Tinker Bell and Peter pan or the lost boys (just have a look at any of the Peter Pan movies and you can get some great ideas from the Lost Boys).. and other characters.

And let's not forget about real-life characters and creatures - policemen, firefighters, sailors, pirates, doctors, ladybugs, bunnies, cats, bats, flowers, pumpkins, butterflies, and the like.

The great thing about Halloween is that our children can be anything they imagine. There are a great deal of costumes available as well as wigs, masks, make-up, swords, daggers, stockings, boots and a whole array of accessories.

Finding toddler Halloween costumes is almost too much fun for us parents. Toddlers and Halloween really make for perfect dressing up opportunities. You can try and describe it all but then you realize that the best description is simply that they look so cute. There are just so many styles available in toddlers costumes and kids make these outfits look oh so good when they're wearing them. Let's face it, there are so many cool costumes out there that just don't look right on adults but they look fabulous on the kids!

Every year designers strive to come up with some beautiful and fantastic costume ideas for babies, toddlers and older children. However, let's not forget that some of the most amazing and creative costumes can be made at home. All it takes is some imagination and supplies that you can find in your closet or storage room.

Dressing up as a team

If you want to go out dressed as a team with your baby or toddler, there are many costumes that can be turned into parent/child sets easily. For example, Star Wars is huge right now, and many parents like dressing up as a character from the movie such as Darth Vader and dressing their child up as Yoda. Movies such as Toy Story, Iron Man, and others have both adult and toddler's Halloween costumes available. Or maybe the mum will dress up as Amidala and dress her little girl up in a Princess Leia costume.
