Once again its Christmas time,
With New Years just round the bend.
All should be just jolly and fine
Till at least the holidays end.
Shops are open, money to spend
Credit cards are working hard.
If you want more, they will lend
Even give you a new card.
Lets’ get merry and rejoice
Remember to praise our Lord
And all hail him with one voice.
Spending what we can’t afford.
The New Year brings more sadness
No money left and deep in debt.
Credit cards are in a mess
Once again we’re with regret.
Next Christmas we’ll make a rule
No gifts or drinking to excess.
But we ourselves are the fool,
Next year, the same none the less.
