Whose Concern Is It?

Updated on May 24, 2011
Lost Friends
Lost Friends
Go to the beach
Go to the beach
Late into the night
Late into the night

Whose concern is it?

If I am getting old and wear my grey hair with pride

I’ve met too many, who in their prime have died.

Whose concern is it?

If I wear clothes that are comfortable, even though they are old

I don’t care if they are not in fashion, or featured in vogue.

Whose concern is it?

If at the beach I wear trunks and an ill fitting skin

People laugh, but they too will age and not be so trim.

Whose concern is it?

If I stay on the computer till late at night

Then stay in bed till the sun is high and bright.

Whose concern is it?

If I shed a tear for a lost friend or pet

It is so hard to look back without regret.

Whose concern is it?

If I stayed to fight or I turned to run

I’ve learned to live with whatever I’ve done.

Whose concern is it?

If I have lived, loved and toiled for so very long

That I have earned the right, to sometimes be wrong.

We are ALL Pro-Choice. We are Pro-Life.

We make our own choice. We live our own life.

      - I CHOOSE to love myself and everyone else - friend or enemy.

      - I CHOOSE to show mercy and compassion to my fellow man, friend or enemy.

      - I CHOOSE to accept the responsibility for what I CHOOSE to do in my life and with my life - right or wrong.

      Whose concern is it?

It's a matter between me and my God. It's His concern.

I loved this and you are right it is only of your concern. You seem like a person that others would be blessed to know :)

Your not the only one in the seniors club, I just reached that edge and feel the right has now been granted me to become a grumpy old man if I feel like. Whose concern is it? nice write, enjoyed it.

Rafken, this made me smile then start humming - If you are among the very young at heart... I loved it. Great job telling it like it is heh...

Nice sentiment Rafken. Yes age has earned all sorts of rights and I intent to milk them to death. Being comfortable in one's own skin is a wonderful thing as is being unconcerned by the little things. Good one!

      You tell 'em rafken!

Like I say, "I was grumpy long before I got old, but now that I am officially a grumpy old man don't give me further reason to bitch...shut up and go away!"

      And then I carry on...unconcerned!

      Valid sentiment, well done.
