My Beautiful Art

You have just entered the Pixie-Atelier, my tiny corner of the world where I paint the beauty that I am fortunate to see. I am writing here so that you can see some of my art. If you click through on the links provided, you will be able to look at other artworks that I have created. I am excited to be showing you my works.

Like my writing, I have been painting since before the turn of the century. I absolutely love to create and painting is a form of art that fits quite nicely into my pixie space, hence, the Pixie-Atelier. While scribbling is how I have traditionally earned a wage, I am venturing forward with my artwork. My hope is to develop my artwork to a place where I am publishing coffee-table books for people to enjoy for days on end; books that can be passed on to loved ones as part of a legacy. ;) Those are my hopes.

So, please enjoy yourself while perusing through my work and follow the links to learn about how my work has been judged. I have a combination of paintings and photography on this site, most of it inspired by travel.

All images and writing are copyrighted by me, Teapixie! :)

This is an extremely special painting that I have done for a dear friend. She received a copy of this painting from her Mom that was ruined in a flood. After her dear Mom passed away, the painting became even more valuable to her.

In this acrylic painting, it is early morning and the sun is just starting to spread its illuminating light across the fields. The pixies have finished their parties and are sleeping in the shadows. The olive tree was so much fun to paint.

Beautiful Frames

I love to hang my paintings with the most beautiful frames I can find. I really believe that the frame can increase the value and beauty of the presentation of an image.

I have chosen intaglio as the design concept for these frames because this design involves engraving, carving, or cutting into the surface of an item which results in a more elaborate frame.

My Work

I love to paint. I have recently ventured into more abstract works. I have an interest in creating artwork for show homes but am only a hobby artist, at this point.

I am inspired by the beauty I discover while exploring the world. Every time I travel I am surprised by the incredible natural beauty that exists in the most unexpected places. Deep in the forests of Kaua'i I have found incredible orchids. In the streets of Silver City, New Mexico I have discovered plants eking out their existence between slabs of sidewalk cement. In Tiwi, Kenya, I have seen millipedes by the hundreds as they coated the warm walkways as the sun was setting. Oh yes - there is beauty everywhere and my challenge is to find ways to present this beauty to you through art.

I would really, really love to read your thoughts about my work. Please take a moment and scribble me a few of your thoughts on the pieces you have seen here. Thank you SO MUCH!

@VicPalombo: Thank you so much, VicPalombo. It is so fun to follow the brush strokes of the impressionists. I was beside myself when I finally got to see a Van Gogh painting and realized that he painted with clear bright colours, just like I want to. His paint is so thick that every reproduction of his work makes it look like he paints dark shadows - the shadows are created by the three dimensional element of his thick paint!!!

Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving a comment.

I love your painting, is fresh and expressive. I think the impressionist masters are a good choice to experience new ways to create. I enjoyed your lens.

@Terrie_Schultz: Thank you, Terrie. I enjoy doing the outdoor paintings - they're always filled with a certain degree of pressure to keep moving and to use the paint up before it dries! Thank you so much for visiting and for leaving a message. :)

@VscorpianC: Ahhhh, Monet. I really love his work. I dream of visiting Giverney, the garden where he painted. Thank you so much for stopping to look, for choosing a favourite, and for showering praise. :)

I really like all of your artwork, you are very talented. If I were to pick a favorite it would be the After Monet piece. :)
