and to those who fell head over heels for a child that didn't come out of your womb...
To those who have bound wounds, scrubbed up all forms of illness, and cooled a fevered brow...
To all you moms who have suffered great loss and kept going...
who wanted to give up, run away or throw in the towel completely, but...
who stayed because you could never be the cause of one tear on those precious little faces...
To all you moms who have cooked and cleaned and sewed into the night...
who have done without so that others might flourish...
To all you moms who have reached the end of the rope and then gotten on your knees to pray...
You're not perfect.
Your record is blemished by mistakes along the way.
But you loved.
You loved well and you loved long and you did the best you could.
So today, of all days... stand tall.
You're a mom.
This world needs you. They need you.
You'll never know how important you are.
