Today is the first day of the New year for the Jewish people all over the world. It is a sweet holiday, and it marks the
beginning of the 10 days of repentance. The Days of Awe, as they are called, culminate with the holiest day of the year, Yom Kippur, or the Day of Atonement.
It is a time of prayer and reflection . .and a time to dip some apples in honey!
Let this be a sweet and peaceful year filled with security and prosperity for everyone.
Thanks, wavegirl...L'shana tovah!
Let's hope it's a great year filled with good health, happiness, peace and prosperity.
Happy Rosh Hashanah, Wavegirl22! Happy New Year to you!
A happy and prosperous year for you and your family as well!
Thank you for the kind sentiments. We should all be so generous with one another.
awww thanks Joelle . .I was starting to feel real lonely around here . .so many pirates talking yesterday and not one good wish . but there you are .. warmed my heart . .really!
May it be all that you wrote and more. .
L'shana tovah my friend
I was wondering why I saw so many Jewish folk all dressed up today! Hah.
Have a good Rosh Hashanah then!
I wondered, with Rosh Hashanah coinciding with International Talk Like a Pirate Day, if it were appropriate to issue greetings like, "L'shana tova, me hearties!"
