Today is the first day of the New year for the Jewish people all over the world. It is a sweet holiday, and it marks the
beginning of the 10 days of repentance. The Days of Awe, as they are called, culminate with the holiest day of the year, Yom Kippur, or the Day of Atonement.

It is a time of prayer and reflection . .and a time to dip some apples in honey!

Let this be a sweet and peaceful year filled with security and prosperity for everyone.

    L'shana tovah

I wondered, with Rosh Hashanah coinciding with International Talk Like a Pirate Day, if it were appropriate to issue greetings like, "L'shana tova, me hearties!"
