    What is your favorite Thanksgiving dish?

    Bacon wrapped green beans. Cook the bacon halfway. You take half a slice of bacon and six pieces of green beans, then wrap it. Sprinkle on some browned sugar and butter mixture, then cook.

    Laulau, a Hawaiian staple that is best described as taro leaves wrapped around salted butterfish and either pork, beef, or chicken. Several bundles can be steamed together--either in an underground pit called an imu or on the stove in a large cracker can (old school method) or in a modern steamer.

    Side dishes of poi, rice, and/or macaroni make for a perfect plate lunch.

    Turkey, ham, or pumpkin pie. Can't decide which I like more. They are my favorites, though.

    hawaiianodysseus:   Christmas is not the same without some Laulau, since moving to Washington the only place that serves Laulau here is L&L but it definitely is not the same back on the islands.

    candied yams, pumpkin pie, and green bean casserole with the mushroom soup and the fried onion ring things.
