Are surprise birthday parties a good idea?
My mother-in-law's birthday is coming up and we are trying to plan a party for her. There are benefits and drawbacks to surprise parties. What are your thoughts? Any fun stories?
I think it is fantastic. We have done this several times now in the family and those celebrating their birthdays really felt special. Our family surprised my husband with a small plane ride around our beautiful lakes for his 70th birthday. Even our neighbours had fun watching us get into the plane and, of course, his surprise to have a plane land at our dock.
