Gifts for seventh grade girls and seventh grade boys

Seventh grade gifts are hard, and mainly geared around electronics. For boys its the latest video game or skateboard. For girls, clothes, clothes, clothes. I'll explore some of the different gifts we have bought my seventh graders over the years.

Below you'll find great Christmas ideas for your 7th grader which are also great Birthday gifts too. If you don't find what you are looking for here, check out my 8th Grade Gift Ideas.

Educational Gifts for 7th Graders

Getting kids to study is hard, so games are always a great way to trick them into doing this task. 7th grade is a great time to start catching up as taking the ACT or SAT are coming up fast.

Seventh graders start to ask interesting questions. Kids interested in science will want to explore the universe and this is a great entry into our solar system.

Minecraft and Legos

Minecraft, the hottest game on the internet, and Legos, the best building block in the world have teamed up to create a Lego Minecraft set. The must have gift for Minecraft gamers. My daughter and son both love playing Minecraft, whether it is on there PC, phone, or PS3.

Also look for large gigantic Lego sets that have more than 1,000 bricks that will teach kids patience.

Video Games and Electronics

Seventh graders are looking for better graphics and more action. The boys are mainly playing video games at this age and are playing them online.

Sports and War games continue to be popular. At 13, boys think they are mature enough for mature games. It was about at this age that we let our son get his first Black Ops game. Grand Theft Auto is still not an option in our house. Make sure you pick games that are age appropriate.

Ipods are great gifts for seventh graders as they are beginning to explore music. Cameras are great as the seventh grade trip is coming up in the spring. Even though these teenagers are more mature, phones don't come into the picture until 8th grade.

Reading Devices for 7th Graders

Seventh grade is a great time to get a Kindle. Books are becoming more lengthy to read and you can take these almost anywhere. My kids have all received a reading device and all love them. Most devices have free books which are basically the classics.

Gifts Cards

Did you buy an Ipod, then you'll need an Itunes gift card. When giving cash and gift cards utilize puzzle boxes that make the kids work a little before accessing the card.
