Gift ideas for eighth grade boys and girls

Eighth grade is a transition year as 13 year old boys and girls are getting ready for high school. There are many times an eighth grader will receive a gift, birthday gifts, graduation gifts, hannukah gifts, and christmas gifts.

There are many different types of 8th grade gifts, from those trying to relive their middle school years to those ready to move on to high school. It's a time to start thinking about study habits and how to start choosing a college. It's also a time to think about what an 8th grader is interested in.

If you don't find what you are looking for here, check out my 9th Grade Gift Ideas or check out Amazon for more great Gift Ideas for 8th Graders.

Autograph Animal

This is typically a graduation year for most boys and girls in 8th grade, when they graduate from middle school or junior high school. 13 year olds are very difficult to buy for, so something sentimental would be the key here, something they would hold on to for years to come.

Picture Frames

Picture frames of the graduate are a great way to mark this special day. I still have my high school and college graduation tassel, although its a little beat up now since it wasn't under glass.

I love the graduation cake pan as well. Something unique that will be fun to create. The son or daughter might not like it, but the kids friends will.

Education items for 8th graders

After 8th grade, you are one year closer to taking the ACT and SAT tests. These are very important for getting into college and receiving scholarships. Finding prep tools for 8th graders and getting them interested in working on these is a must so that they have a good two years to prepare before their junior year.

Video games for eighth grade boys

13 year old boys are into video games. This is around the year where the Teen rated games start making sense, but we know a lot of the boys want to play the mature games as well. Buying a mature game is a child by child decision.

Educational Board Games for Eighth Graders

Eighth graders play all kinds of games. Some still like to play Chutes and Ladders, but I like games that will expand their vocabulary like Scrabble and Boggle. Also look for computer games that will start training them for the PSAT, SAT, and ACT tests.

A laptop computer makes a great 8th grade gift

A laptop computer is a great gift for an eighth grader prior to going into high school. Late nights writing papers and researching via the internet. By the way, the bigger the screen the better.

What gift are you going to buy your eighth grade student?
