Small Versus Large

When my husband and I said our to do's 27 years ago we had a small wedding of 50 people. If we were to do it all over again we wouldn't change a thing.

Luckily we both had fairly small families so we didn't have to exclude too many people. I understand for some that a small wedding is next to impossible.

10 Reasons for a Small Wedding

1.) If you're having your wedding catered each meal is going to cost you a specific amount. When I got married ours was $55.00 per person. This can get quite expensive especially if you are paying (as we did) for your own wedding.

2.) With a smaller wedding the bride and groom are able to socialize with everyone at the wedding where as when there are more than 50 people it makes it harder to get around to everyone there.

3.) If you decide that you want to have an open-bar and are having a smaller wedding, once again you'll be cutting down on the costs.

4.) Places where you book your wedding reception tend to have smaller rooms more readily available.

5.) Since you're saving money on a smaller wedding you'll be able to have that open bar, or a more elaborate menu choice.

6.) Your guests will enjoy themselves usually more at a smaller wedding. At mine most people still to this day say it was the best wedding they'd ever been to.

7) You will be able to have more time for more people in the photographs. Get pictures with everyone to remember your special day.

8.) The bride and groom will normally know all the people at their wedding with a smaller crowd.

9.) If you are having a DIY wedding a smaller one is much easier than a large one.

10.) Less preparation such as invitations to write out, wedding cake to wrap, and thank you cards to write after the big day.

Dinner Music

At our wedding the DJ music didn't start until after dinner. If I were to do it all again I would choose to have music playing in the background on low while people were enjoying their meal.

Large or Small

Whether you're married or not, what size wedding would you like; a large wedding or a small wedding.
