Original's comic con trailer

Pacific Rim stars Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy) & Idris Elba (Thor as Heimdall)

The Pacific Coast is at war with large beings from the seas beneath the earth's crust. That side of the world (at least) is in ruins and the military and so on, could not stop what is called Kaiju (meaning monster). The humans (as the posters & commercials say) to beat monsters, we made monsters. Those 'monsters' are the giant robots called Jagers (German for Hunter) that, like the Kaiju are as tall if not taller than skyscrappers.

Pilots are usually family brothers like Releigh and Yancey Beckette or Father Son team Herc & Chuck (played by True Blood's Rob Kazinsky Hansen. Who 'Drift' which is what the mind link is called (for those into Nascar or car racing, might understand that a better)

There's also a set of triplets that pilot one from China I believe.

The Review

Pacific Rim [Blu-ray]
Pacific Rim [Blu-ray]
I went to see the movie because as a child, I remember a station here showed King Kong or Godzilla in 3D(if not both) . Seeing the creatures in this made me think of Godzilla, and those old creature feature movies. So what better to see then an actual monster movie (which like others before it, you don't really even see the monsters ahem.. J.J' Abrams' Cloverfield!) Even better they were showing it in 3D, which unlike some I seem to have a good eye and mind for what would be worth seeing in 3D or not. I'm usualy also pretty good (even whe it's not 3d) whether it would be worth the tme and money to see it in the theater, this was for sure. I wanted to go back and watch it again! This is my original review of the movie: With Monsters and robots of this size I had to see it in the theater. I've told at least one person after seeing it that unless you have a tv bigger than a theater screen, then see it in the theater. I know I wouldn't have enjoyed this as much just watching it as a dvd or blu-ray on one of the tvs in my house, and I'm glad that tho' my leg was killing me & was limping but I'm so sick of being in pain I took the risk of making it worse & went to see it in the theater. Well when they say 'go big' this is HUGE, and if it comes down to these Kiju or Zombies, I will definitely take the zombies! (at least they are more likely my size. I can deal with on my own). I loved there was FINALLY a monster movie the likes of Godzilla (or at least for this era, unlike that J.J. Abrams one that was out years ago & I can't even remember the name of it!) Not only do we have creepy monsters from below the earth beside the Monolithic Robots we also have drama, some dojo action in finding a partner best compatible to our hero when he's called back to action. The fight scenes are pretty quick and for me were not long enough. I hope there will be a sequel so long as Charlie Hunnam will be in it. It was enjoyable, more so here I am sure than it would have been if I had waited for rental. (Wouldn't have been as 'star struck' so to speak. With the big huge eyes when we see the first Jaeger robot (meaning Hunter) as well as the Kaiju which means big Monster or Large Beast. I say go see it in the theater while you have the chance. I went back to being a wondrous kid again seeing the Robots and 'aliens' even though I'm quite sure how they made them. B

John Boyega who I am SO sick of seeing in seemingly everything now after he was in Star Wars is the star and is the son of Idris Elba's character Pentecost from the first. He leads a new generation of jager pilots.

Scott Eastwood is in this as well (and maybe the only reason I might see it)

Mako is back (but sadly not Charlie Hunnam)

from one of the trailers I've seen, we may get to see more Jagers than we did in the first movie. (Honestly with the pictures I included above of Jagers, I don't understand why they didn't at least show some or maybe even have a prequel with them in it.
