A Chat With SAQIB: Interview Yourself Writing Challenge

Updated on February 26, 2017

As I write this, I have words of HENRY WADSWORTH LONGFELLOW in my mind:

Tell me not, in mournful numbers,

Life is but an empty dream!

For the soul is dead that slumbers,

And things are not what they seem.

Life is real! Life is earnest!

And the grave is not its goal;

Dust thou art, to dust returnest,

Was not spoken of the soul.

I took a break of about 2 weeks since I last wrote for Hubpages. I was just kind of blank indeed for what topic to write on. After having gone through interview of Jodah by By John Hansen, I also decided to row on my boat in the same direction.

It is really nice to write genuinely your heart out. Its really exciting to write about oneself. This interview is totally innocent, not for any job/firm or any promotion. Just the true myself.

Interview of my Mind and Heart

I am the interviewer myself. I have many questions to ask in the questionnaire of my file about my life so far. Isn't the idea interesting enough? Mind and Heart conversation. Qestions are from my mind and I will answer them by Heart.

Mind: Saqib where were you born?

Heart: I was born on May 13, 1987 in Nowshera, small little town of Pakistan. A neat and clean city in the North Western Province of Pakistan. By family i am a pukhtoon. A Caste that has always been dignified, indeed.

Mind: Pakistan ! Tell the world as you feel about your schooling and your country ?

Heart: Pakistan is a beautiful country indeed. I had my schooling from MCJ (Military College Jhelum), a prestigious institution for which I have dedicated a hub already. I had my Bachelors of Engineering degree from NUST (National University of Sciences and Technology), An institution of Pakistan ranked among top 300 Universities of the world.

Mind: Engineer ! wow, How is it and I would like to know more about Pakistan?

Heart: Being attached to a profession as an Engineer I have been to the recce of Thar desert which was a unique experience. I have been to Siachen, world's highest battle ground. Pakistan has high peaks, meadows, rivers, salts, coal reservoirs, dams and what not. A wonderful country with serene cities like Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.Considered 3rd world country throughout the world, I really admire still Pakistan is a nuclear equipped nation that has strong love for peace.

Her hands !!
Her hands !!

Mind: So, are you married or...?

Heart: Hmm.. I have been married 50%. .. (a light smile on my face as I write this).. I am happily engaged. To a girl I love really, In fact I have dedicated a hub for her in the form of a poem. I plan to get married by the end of next year (due to some professional comlplications being a year late already) Hope all is well then InshaALLAH.

How have you found my interview?

See results

Mind: Which places you would like to visit?

Heart: I would like to perform my religious pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia. I also crave to visit Australia, Spain and Turkey. I have a liking for USA too.

Mind: How has been writing for HP to you?

Heart: Well it has been a wonderful experience, having made lots of friends and met wonderful writers like John Hansen (Jodah), Manatita, Faith Reaper and christinemariezzz. To put it in one line, Hubpages is totally a learning community. I would love if I win a JACKPOT. Cackles and Cheers.

Just love the line of Forrset Gump.

Mind: How you spend your Lesiure Time?

Heart: I have started off Tennis and I have realized it is quite easy as you see it but really its tough.

Take a sigh of relief. Have a 2 minute break.

I have been practicing tennis daily. Well I have been a huge fan of movies. I have watched almost 80% movies of Clint Eastwood and Richard Gere. I admire Muhammad Ali and specially watch his boxing again and again. I have been following House of Cards recently too.

Mind: Any Special Prayer for someone?

Heart: I have my prayers for my parents, brothers and sisters. I have my special prayers for my elder brother Aftab, pursuing PhD at Georgia Tech. I have all my kind regards for him.

I have my special regards for all good people, whose works remain UNSUNG. Peace is what is the need of the day, Life itself is a gift, Please don't waste it.

For JODAH an excerpt from "Hiawatha" :

    Ever dear to Hiawatha

    Was the memory of Mama!

And in token of his friendship,

As a mark of his remembrance,

He adorned and decked his pipe-stem

With the crimson tuft of feathers,

With the blood-red crest of Mama.

    But the wealth of Megissogwon,

All the trophies of the battle,

    He divided with his people,

    Shared it equally among them.

    Thanks and Peace !!

First Bro, I like Wadsworth and I know this poem. I like Clint Eastwood and Mohammed Ali. Did you produce the second part of Ali's life?

Yes, you can improve on the interview. Just concentrate on making it more appealing to the reader. Add simplicity and sweetness. I commend your efforts so far. Continue.

Thank you for the mention. I am really an instrument in the hands of the Supreme. You seem to have noticed this. Salaam!
