A Shoe Did Me In

Updated on January 27, 2014

Whose right shoe was that in the middle of the floor?

I almost tripped over it on my way out the door

what a disaster that would of been

cause down the flight

of stairs for sure I would of went

sailing through the air over the banister

landing on the cold hard cement

Was this a conspiracy to get rid of me?

damn that shoe if you only knew what

someone set you up to do

take the blame if I’d broken my neck

“ Why it was the shoe that did it”, they’d say

Crying fake tears, while seeing who was left in my 'will '

rummaging through my jewelry box,

searching for the key to the lock

dividing up my furniture, and don’t

forget my China dishes

and Platinum silverware

Going through my closet seeing what they can wear

All those pretty shoes just sitting there

well the jokes on them I seen it coming

what the hell I should of known

two shoes are better than one

they didn't get me with the first one

I tripped over the left one

and now I’m dead

A shoe did me in

      Ha ha ..

So the ghost says that it is finally dead.

      Dear Ek Elis,

I won't forget the way you have traveled inside the poem.

The physical particles and the poetic articles made it happen so fine.

      Nice one.

      Thanks for sharing.

HAHA!!! This was clever and funny and sad. Its awful some people cant even wait for the familly member to be properly buried before they start tearing at each others throats for the good China.

Hilarious.. Well done. I love the way it flowed and the idea of relatives fighting over your things after you´ve gone. Some families really are like that. Take care., especially from the top of the stairs. x
