A MOTHERS HEART YEARNS
When you were a babe~
Close within my womb~
I rocked you to the sounds~
I yearned you to learn.
I rocked you~
I talked to you~
I rubbed your nakedness. ~
I held you and caressed you~
While you were within.
You came about~
I continued to nurture~
Watching your every breath. ~
I sang to you~
Whispered to you~
As I let you hear the sounds I thought~
Were best.
I laid on the bed with you cradled in my palms~
Giving you special private times. ~
I held you~
And played with you~
All your delightful giggles were mine.
I woke up with nightmares~
That you were under water~
And I stretched out to reach you~
To no avail.
I gave you all I had~
Protecting you as much as I could. ~
I enjoyed our sharing~
As a proud mother should.
I was in awe of your talents~
Even though you might not of seen. ~
I tried to hold you in balance~
As you slipped away from me.
Now I yearn for your heart to once again~
Love mine. ~
Now I yearn for your love~
And realize it must take time.
Come back to me my little man~
Come back to me my joy~
Come back to me my babe in the womb~
Come back to me my giggling toy.
