Anna Hazare on Fast News & Biography
Kisan Bapat Baburao Hazare (Shri Anna Hazare Ji) was born on 15th Jan, 1940. His birth place is Bhingar village, Ahmednagar district, Maharashtra. His parents are Babu Rao Hazare & Laxmi Bai. Wearing white dhoti & a Gandhi cap, this man has become one of the biggest Non-political leader since Independence.
Anna Hazare couldn’t pursue his studies after 7th due to some family reasons. At the age of 23, he joined Indian Army as a driver. He was posed at various places in India where he faced the toughest times of his life. Bhutan, Assam, Laddakh etc. are some of those places he was majorly posted. In 1965, he escaped death in the Indo-Pak war, whereas all his companions died in the air strike. In 1978, he retired from the Indian Army opting for Voluntary Retirement.
In 1991, Anna Hazare for the first time started his protest against corruption. He protested against the 42 forest officers for the their irregularities. It was a long battle, but he managed to give them the punishment which they rightly deserved. After this, there was no stopping him. He then exposed many scams under the banking projects & land revenues.
Although, Shri Anna Hazare was working for the nation as a social worker for more than 20 years, but he got the importance & fame on national level when he started his struggle for implementation of “Jan Lokpal Bill”. He along with Arvind Kejriwal started a strong protest against Government. Anna Hazare also took up a fast of 12 days where he survived only on plain water & his fast ended only when govt. promised to bring the Bill. This protest by Anna Hazare worked as a alarm for whole country & protests against corruption started all over India. Anna Hazare became a icon for whole country where people believed that he will make India a Corrupt-free nation.
Anna Hazare has won many awards for his contributions to the country. Padam Bhushan & Padam Shree are the two of the biggest awards he has got so far. He presently lives on his Army Pension in a small room located I Ralegan Sidhi, a village in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. He has totally changed the views of people in Ralegan Sidhi and has made them self-sufficient. State Government has launched a “Model Village” scheme to follow the guidelines of Anna Hazare.
It is totally amazing how this single man has totally changed the nations’s view. After formation of Aam Aadmi party (AAP), he has separated himself from Arvind kejriwal. From January, he will start a India tour from Patna, Bihar where he will listen to problems of all people & will help them in getting their rights. We wish him all the best & promise hm to give full support in his “Fight against Corruption”.
