Ascend by the Stairs Called Praise (Poem)
In sweet surrender, I yield
To You Holy Spirit,
Oh, dove of God,
Fall afresh sweet anointing
Break every yoke, which binds,
Bring me into total harmony with You
I posture myself in repentance,
So, that I can ascend
By the spiritual stairs of worship,
In Your holy presence I am free
Take me into the high places,
The place of the high praises
Of the Almighty,
Who dwells in eternity
Whose name is Holy,
Make this my secret place, and
My pavilion, and refuge
My hiding place, and my secret abode,
Cleanse me, and hide me
In Your holiness
Where I can sing along,
Holy, holy, holy with the heavenly host
Under the shadow of the Almighty,
I ascend to You my God by the stairs,
I climb and arise
With a heart of thanksgiving,
Each step takes me higher and higher
I am elevated into praise and worship,
I’ve come to extol and adore You Lord
With holy reverence and awe,
I’m in Your holy presence,
Delighted to be here
To commune with You,
It is here that Your glory unfolds
Pure, and holy is Your countenance,
Your voice I hear, saying,
Come up higher, and
Leave the small places
I will saturate your thirst, and
Fill your hunger, and
Fulfill your quest, and search for Me
As you diligently seek My holiness.
