Afraid of Lonely

Updated on May 24, 2017

Loneliness hides deep within.

She spent her days with someone who was never meant to hold her hand as they walked the end of the paths of life.

A love so strong it made the gods of their universe quiver, but in their souls they knew they were not created for each other.

Everything clicked into place so perfectly.

They knew it was only a matter of time before they had to let go.

They knew they had to venture out on their own and find the tiny missing piece each other could not fill.

She was afraid of many things in this life but never finding the one who was supposed to make the sun shine and the moon cry in her own world was the biggest fear she held deep within her very flesh and blood, her pounding heart.

The kind of love that lasts a lifetime, two lifetimes, three.

The love that finds you no matter where you are, what you've done.

The kind of love you read about in New York Times Bestselling Novels, written by Authors who know exactly what kind of love she was talking about.

Two people destined to be great, to do great. Together. Their very own version of Bonnie and Clide.

Her biggest fear took over her dreams, keeping her awake.

She let the storm in as her mind drifted farther from the sweet caves of her skull.

Scared of being distracted by those who were so wrong for her, wasting time when she should be looking for her one.

The one.

Losing time with each waking moment.

Time that should be shared with the one they called "Soul Mate".

Her happily ever after.

She could see it in the distance, it held her looking forward. Unable to turn her head, she whispered to the gods above asking for it.

Reaching out with her greedy hand, ready to grasp what was not yet there.

The clock always ticking.

Even in her dreams she can never grasp on tightly to her deepest desire.

Afraid of Lonely

I think this resonates on so many levels for a lot of us. Staying with someone you know isn't quite what you want but that you could be happy with. Except you'd always know you'd settled and given up the dream of finding the one you were truly meant to meant to be with. You've expressed this beautifully.
